Who Is Affected
Does MTD ITSA Apply to You?

01/ Over £50,000
Sole traders and landlords with qualifying income above this threshold must comply from April 2026.
02/ £30,000 – £50,000
Those with combined income in this range will be required to join from April 2027.
03/ Below £30,000
Not required to join yet HMRC is reviewing this threshold.

Does MTD ITSA Apply to You?
From April 2026
Over £50,000
Sole traders and landlords with combined qualifying income above £50,000 must comply from April 2026.
From April 2027
£30,000 – £50,000
Those with combined income between £30,000 and £50,000 will be required to join from April 2027.
Under Review
Below £30,000
If your income is below £30,000, you are not required to join yet. HMRC is reviewing this threshold.
